Oyster Matching Game

A memory-matching game made by an oyster lover, for oyster lovers.
Your only clue: the photo on the card.
Color, shell shape, that plump little body —
trust your eyes, trust your gut, and find the pairs.

How To Play

Two Ways to Play

Main mode | The real challenge, for those who like to take their time

Memory Match (Oyster Matching Game)

Lay every card shell-side up. Flip two at a time and match the pairs. The oysters all look suspiciously similar — train your eye and your memory to tell them apart!

Starter mode | For when you want something quick

Speed Round (Oyster Finding Game)

Split each oyster pair between the draw pile and the display row (shown flesh-side up). Flip a card from the draw pile and be the first to spot its match!

Found another fun way to play? We'd love to hear about it. 🦪

Each of these sixteen was selected for personality and card balance — not for being the "best tasting."
Honestly, they're all too good to rank.

Tips for Getting More Out of Oyster Matching Game

For a quick round

Both Memory Match and Speed Round work great with fewer pairs. If you're playing on a tight oyster-bar table or just want something quick and fun, trim the deck down. (5 pairs is plenty to have a good time!)

Note: when playing in public spaces or at a restaurant/bar, please be mindful of your surroundings, other guests, and staff.

More than 6 players?

Once you get to 7 or 8 people, everyone ends up grabbing fewer cards. We recommend splitting into teams — four teams of two, or two teams of four, whatever works for your group.

Give them nicknames

Beyond just memorizing the visuals, our playtesters found that giving each oyster a nickname really helped — things like "Gabi-Gabi," "Chestnut-chan," or "The Tasty One." Get creative and name them whatever feels right. ♡ Comparing everyone's nicknames afterward is half the fun.

Afterward, go eat some actual oysters!

While you play, and definitely after, you're going to want real oysters. Go get some! Oyster Matching Game exists, in no small part, to send more customers to oyster bars. That's the business model. (`・ω・´)キリッ

Playing solo

Spread every oyster card across the table and just... look at them. When you don't have the time or the budget to actually go eat oysters, this is a surprisingly effective substitute. Ahh, my eyes are happy. ♡ (You'll probably end up going to eat real ones anyway, lol.)

Where You Can Play It
